Nailene Spa Manicure Pack

So I was shopping at my local Costco and saw this kit and knew that I just had to have it! In this kit you will find:

Three nail polishes- They are all in the pink color range (pink, light pink, lighter pink). Overall I did not like these nail polishes I found them cheap looking and its consistency very thick. Once applied on the nail it just didn't look nice enough for my liking... skip!

Tip Guides (plenty for multiple manicures)- Adhesive nail tip guides that you place on the tip of your nail and it helps you keep the french manicure even!!

Two French Tip Pens- This is what makes this product cool! You take the tip guide place it on your nail, then you take the pen and voila! You have a french manicured nail!!!

Green Tea Nail Strengthener- Absolutely lovely! Clear, see through shine.. looks wonderful once placed on top of the french tip.

Four Nail Art Sheets- If your feeling like some nail art instead or maybe with your french manicure, here you go! just place it on your natural nail bed and start applying the green tea nail strengthener.

One Nail File- To file those nails

One Set of Toe Separators- If you feel like a pedi!

Overall, I love this product because it makes having a great manicure realistic! However, I found that the french tip manicure does not last very long if you lead a hectic and using-hands-for-everything life... But Im sure if you take extra precaution over your manicure it should last more than two days.

As mentioned above, I did not enjoy the three pink nail polishes and I found them to be tacky looking. I did however absolutely love the green tea nail strengthener as I found it to actually protect my nails and I noticed that they actually grew -for once- without braking! I use this nail polish even without my french manicure, just a-la-everyday!

I would recommend this product because it is an affordable way to get great looking nails (even if it does not last very long).

ps. It might take you some practice in order to get the bests results aka perfect french manicure, but you will have enough material for that and some!

Broadway Real Life Brush on Gel Nails

I bought this kit at my local Rexall Pharmacy, I was looking for a gel nail kit and the bright packaging caught my eye. I noticed that in this particular kit everything was laid out for you to see through the package (without you having to buy it first to know what was included and what it looked like). On the package it states that you have two complete applications, no UV light is needed and that it is safe, quick and easy to remove.

I must admit at this particular pharmacy there was not much selection of gel nail kits, so I went with this one. It was the most expensive of all the ones available and I figured that must of been for a reason. Having purchased an acrylic nail kit before I knew that I wanted a gel one this time, as gel nails are more see through, and just nicer looking in general. I had been looking for a gel nail kit at other shops and this one seemed the best one to get.

In this package you will find:

Instructions

Mini Nail File and Manicure Stick- The mini nail file must be used to file down your nail bed in order for the applications of the gels to stick! Don't forget to push your cuticles back, using the manicure stick included!!

48 SelfTab Nail Tips- Easy to apply, you must go through all of them to see which ones fit your natural nail best.

Brush-On Gel- Once you have found the nail that fits you best, this is the next step. You apply this brush-on gel onto your natural and artificial nail.

Brush-On Gel Activator- This is the second gel that must be applied on top of the brush-on gel in order for the 'gelafied' nail to become one!

Brush Cleaner- This liquid in a bottle is basically acetone. It must be used in between brush-on gel applications in order to keep you brush soft, usable and most importantly clean.
TIP: I also used this to correct any imperfections on the final product. Not that you should have any as this product is self leveling, however, if you were to encounter a mishap no worries this can help you correct it!

Overall I am somewhat happy with the result and I'll tell you way. The results you get using this product are good for an at home kit, but saying that you CAN in my opinion tell its an at-home-manicure. You will obviously not get salon results BUT at the same time you will not be paying salon prices.

The Broadway Real Life Brush on Gel Nails kit is a decent product and I would recommend it as it is very easy to use and fun!
Will I buy it again? maybe... but first I will try and review others and then I will compare and stick with the best overall product.

OPI Nail Polish

I recently purchased three OPI Nail Polishes at a local mall. I usually like to match my nails to my wardrobe and so on this particular day I was feeling a little wild. I bought OPI on collins ave (which is a bright orangy-pink), elephantastic pink (very bright pink), and purple with a purpose (bright purple).

Once I got home and applied the bright pink onto my nails I noticed that it looked very nice and smooth. I went out later that day and even got several compliments on my nail polish color! This nail polish dried smoothly and very quickly. A week later I got gel nails done at my favorite salon and when I got tired of my french manicure I had, I applied the bright purple thinking it would not dry on my fake nails but to my surprise it did! I love this nail polish brand but at $12.00 a pop I must admit the price is quite hefty. When my manicurist told me that beauty supply stores sell OPI nail polishes in bulk for $3.00 each I was speechless. To think that I actually paid $9.00 extra just because I cannot buy from those beauty supply stores without a license!

Anyways, OPI is one of the best nail polish brands (besides Chanel) in my opinion but Im not sure I can afford to feed this addiction.

Pure Cosmetics by Carlo Di Roma

Okay so last Christmas I walked into Rexall Pharmacy looking for tape and on the way I stopped by the cosmetic section... Long story short I saw this item that appeared to be a little book with the word PURE on it. I picked it up and saw that inside this "book" (more like a case) there was four thiner books inside; three that contained makeup and the fourth was a makeup application tip book.
I was in a hurry so I grabbed it, paid for it and ran out... without the tape by the way!

Once at home I inspected my purchase and was happy to find that this "book" contains everything a girl needs to look her very best! This book is called "Old White Book" and you can find it on the official website https://www.makemepureshop.com

In this book you will find the following:

The Secret Smile- Basically a compact book (case) that comes with a built in mirror and small lip pencil for application. In this case you will find nine beautiful lip stick-type shades, such as: neutral peach, light pinks, dark reds and browns. These lip sticks are very hydrating and they just make my lips feel so yummy.

The Secret Look- Another compact book that also comes with a built in mirror and a small brush. In this slim black book you will find nine awesome colors that you can't go wrong with. Some of these eye shadow colors are: black, cream, gray, brown, pink, yellow, etc. These eyeshadows are great to work with and complete many looks from a simple one tone look to the smokey eye look. The eye shadow goes on smoothly and the color does not fade!

The Secret Hug- This is the third makeup-containing book, that also comes with a built in mirror and mini blush brush. In this compact case you will find five different shades of blushes. In this gray book you will find at least one tone that you will absolutely love. You get two bronze tones (one lighter than the other), two pink tones (one lighter than the other) and one very light neutral color (for a minimal color to the cheeks).

The Golden Book- Last but not least this is the golden book that is actually a small 21 page book on makeup application and tone matching. This book I must admit did not teach me anything I didn't already know, but for the novice can prove to be very golden indeed.

This Old White Book by PURE Cosmetics has proven to be my go to makeup source every morning as I get ready to start my day. It has not failed me once and sure I like to compliment my makeup kit with other colors, brands and pallets, but at the begging of everyday I always turn to my Old White Book.

After using this product for a whole year straight (on the 24th of Dec) and still not having run out, I must admit I am very, VERY impressed and will be purchasing me some more products from this makeup line. Im so much of a fan I even became a fan of it on facebook, that's how you know I am devoted to this somewhat new brand.

Give it a try and let me know how you like it!

Gosh Cosmetics

Today while I was looking at the cosmetics at my local drug store there was one brand that caught me eye. It's called GOSH and it happened to be on sale so I decided to give it a try. I purchased some lip jam (gloss) and eye powder (shadow). Although I wear eye shadow on the rare occasion, I do love to buy it anyways, is that weird?

The GOSH cool lip jam (103 and 104) was a bit too sticky and I found that my long hair kept sticking to my lips. I did love the slight hint of color however and if you have your hair up and apply a sheer layer then it works wonders! The lip jam colors are not very noticeable, so if your looking for color this will not be the gloss. These glosses turned out in my opinion to be very hydrating to my dry lips and therefore I would buy them again if they were on sale!

As for the eyeshadow, called GOSH "effect powder" (11 Green Star), I found it to be a bit uneven when applied. The powder was easy enough to apply, however it turned out to be a bit to sparkly for my taste. I ended up just using this powder at the corners of my eyes to accentuate their almond shape. As the day progressed I noticed that some of the powder ended up underneath the corner of my eyes. Overall, I was not very impressed with this item.

GOSH definitely has makeup for evening wear, to out with the girls, to go for drinks and definitely to go clubbing. I would not consider this makeup brand for everyday wear however much affordable it may be, as the colors are very bold and not much of a neutral selection is available.

GOSH On Stage, cool lip jam $9.00 (sale)- Regular $13-19

GOSH Effect Powder $13.00
